Rome Bike Ride:
August 18th (Tuesday) and the Rain Date is: August 20th (Thursday)
F.O.P. (Feet on Pedals) at 9:30am
We did this ride a few years ago and I'd like to do it again.
I hope some of you will join me!
It starts in Rome at the corner of South James Street and Muck Road (right near the bridge).
The Parking lot is at Gryziec Field. (on Muck Road)
The ride goes East along the Canal for about a mile, then another mile on city streets.
From there we go onto the Mohawk Trail (paved) for several miles.
We'll go through some Griffiss roads (very limited car traffic). We'll work our way to the Bunkers
where they used to store missiles during the Cold War.
Then we'll head back and cruise through the Sculpture Park. Yes, there is one hill that is a bit tough. Some of this path
is crushed stone then back onto paved paths.
We'll work our way back to the Starting point for a total of about 22 miles.
See the attachment for an idea of where we start/end and will be riding.
The attached map has all of the above information.
If you have questions, call me!
